About the Role
SA Metro Care is seekingFemale Disability Support Workersto provide supports withinSupported Independent Living (SIL)services across thenorthern Adelaide suburbs, including Salisbury, Elizabeth, and Munno Para.
In this role, you will supportyoung female participantswho require structured and consistent supports due to ahistory of behaviors of concern.
Supports are delivered in accordance with each participant'sPositive Behavior Support Plan (PBSP)and relevant safeguarding arrangements, includingguardianship and SACAT orders where applicable.
The focus of this role is to provideperson-centered, safe, and respectful supportsthat promote stability, wellbeing, and meaningful daily engagement while maintaining a safe environment for both participants and staff.
Support workers will work closely with the broader support team and follow established behavior support strategies to assist participants with daily living tasks, emotional regulation, and community participation.
Key Responsibilities
Provideperson-centered supportswithin a SIL home environment
Implement strategies outlined in participants'Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP)
Support participants withdaily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household routines
Promoteemotional regulation, independence, and positive engagementin daily activities
Maintainaccurate documentation, including progress notes and incident reporting where required
Work collaboratively withbehavior practitioners, guardians, and the broader support team
Maintainprofessional boundaries and safe work practicesat all times
Experience and Skills
Previous experience working inNDIS disability supports, particularly withinSIL environments
Experience supporting individuals withbehaviors of concern or complex support needs
Understanding ofPositive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP)and behavior support strategies
Ability to remaincalm, patient, and professional in challenging situations
Strongcommunication, observation, and documentation skills
Ability to workboth independently and as part of a team
Understanding oftrauma-informed and person-centered approaches to support

The ability to followbehavior support strategies consistently
Strongprofessional boundaries and decision-making skills
Acalm and respectful approachwhen supporting individuals experiencing distress or escalation
Flexibility to worka variety of shifts including evenings, weekends, and nights/sleepovers
Requirements
NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
Valid Australian Driver's License
Access to a reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance
NDIS Worker Orientation Module (or willingness to complete)
Previous experience in disability support, SIL, or complex behaviors preferred
Understanding of Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP) and person-centered practices
Robust communication, reliability, and ability to work as part of a team
