An exciting opportunity has become available for a passionate and experienced
Cook
to join our team at our family-owned childcare centre in Morayfield.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating nutritious, delicious meals for children and enjoys being part of a warm, supportive team. This role is more than simply preparing meals. Our Cook is an important part of our centre community, building relationships with our children, families and educators and helping create positive experiences around food and nutrition.
Our family-owned centre is also supported by an external management team, providing additional professional support and guidance to help you succeed in your role.
About the Role
As our Centre Cook, you will be responsible for:
Planning and preparing nutritious, high-quality menus for children
Ensuring allergies, dietary requirements and individual needs are carefully accommodated
Preparing our
daily complimentary parent breakfast
, helping us provide a welcoming and convenient start to the day for our families
Setting up, maintaining and ensuring our
parent breakfast station is fully stocked and ready each morning
Maintaining a clean, organised and compliant kitchen in accordance with food safety regulations and requirements
Managing kitchen budgets, stock, ordering and meal planning
Building positive and collaborative relationships with educators, children and families
Providing weekly cooking experiences for children across different ages and stages of development
Working alongside families and educators to support individual dietary and nutritional needs




Contributing positively to the wider centre community and helping us create a warm, welcoming environment for our families
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience working as a Cook, with experience in an Early Childhood setting highly regarded
Cookery qualifications and/or a Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain
A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain
Confidence in developing nutritious and varied menus
A strong understanding of food allergies, dietary requirements and safe food preparation
Experience with budgeting, ordering and stock management
Strong organisation and time-management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A professional, reliable and positive attitude
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team

This is a permanent part-time position working Monday to Friday:
Monday:
7:00am – 1:00pm
Tuesday:
7:00am – 1:00pm
Wednesday:
7:00am – 1:00pm
Thursday:
7:00am – 1:00pm
Friday:
7:00am – 2:00pm
A 30-minute lunch break applies daily.
