About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivatedLamb Feedlot Operations Managerto join our team at our privately owned feedlot inYork, WA.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the feedlot and ensuring safe, smooth, and effective performance across livestock management, feed coordination, compliance, and team leadership.
The role requires strong practical experience in sheep handling, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to maintain excellent standards in animal welfare, operational processes, and workplace safety.
You will also contribute valuable operational insight to future expansion and growth initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the daily running of the feedlot, ensuring safe and efficient operations
Manage sheep handling and movement, including receiving, induction, processing, drafting, and dispatch
Coordinate daily feed preparation and delivery, including management of pellet deliveries and supplier arrangements
Monitor lamb and sheep health and welfare, including identifying issues early and coordinating treatment where required
Maintain accurate records for livestock intake, performance, treatments, and dispatch
Ensure compliance with animal welfare standards, feedlot protocols, and farm administration requirements
Oversee feedlot equipment, systems, and infrastructure to ensure they are maintained and operational
Support future expansion projects by providing practical operational input into upgrades and growth plans
Lead, mentor, and support staff, fostering a positive, accountable, and safety-focused team culture
Skills & Experience
Minimum 3–5 years' practical feedlot experience
Strong hands-on experience in sheep handling and understanding of livestock behaviour
Demonstrated capability in feed preparation, feedlot machinery, and feedlot systems
Sound knowledge of animal health, nutrition, and welfare best practice
Strong record-keeping and organisational skills
Ability to work independently, solve problems, and take initiative
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to guide and support a team
A genuine passion for livestock, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
A current valid driver's licence
