About the Role
This fantastic chance is for a motivated
Associate
to join our high-performing
General Insurance
team in our
Sydney
office. Ideally, you will have at least
3 years'
post qualification experience with a keen interest in insurance litigation.
This role will see you working on a wide variety of public and product liability, professional liability and general insurance matters across a diverse range of industries, under the supervision and guidance of our Principal Lawyers.
This exciting role will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to manage your own matters and have a high level of direct client contact, allowing you to make a significant contribution to their outcome. You will be supported by Principal and Senior Lawyers who are committed to mentoring and developing you, while being part of a collegiate and collaborative team. This is the perfect environment to further develop your advocacy skills, strategic-advice work, and practice management skills.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need:
A genuine interest in insurance litigation law
At least 3 years' post admission experience gained working within an insurance litigation practice
Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills
Ability to work fast and meticulously with high attention to detail
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a strong sense of initiative and autonomy
A proactive client service orientated attitude with an excellent work ethic
Skills & Abilities
Demonstrates an understanding of the legal issues relevant to the practice of insurance law and a demonstrated ability to understand and respond to the commercial objectives of clients
This role requires an eye for technical detail but also the ability to provide legal advice in a commercial context. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate clearly with a high level of attention to detail
Proven ability to build relationships and communicate effectively at all levels of seniority
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to deal confidently with clients directly and foster client relationships
Time management skills and proven ability to prioritise multiple active matters at any one time
Capacity to problem solve and think laterally
