About the role:
This is a hands on role suited to a qualified Heavy Vehicle Mechanic who takes pride in quality workmanship, strong fault-finding skills, and maintaining a high standard of safety.
You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a range of trucks, trailers, and heavy vehicles, both in the workshop and occasionally on site.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance on trucks and trailers.
Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and braking system faults.
Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailers, including braking and suspension systems.
Carry out breakdown repairs in the workshop and occasionally off-site.
Complete accurate service records, job cards, and maintenance documentation.
Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and industry standards.
Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
Assist with the maintenance and upkeep of workshop tools and equipment.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:




Minimum 3 years' experience as a qualified Truck & Trailer Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic.
Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent.
Solid diagnostic and mechanical fault-finding skills.
Proven experience with heavy vehicle braking systems, suspension, and trailer repairs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
Ability to manage workload and prioritise tasks effectively.
MC driver's licence preferred.
Forklift licence advantageous.
Hydraulic systems and fault diagnosis.
Welding and fabrication experience
Servicing earthmoving equipment, forklifts, and mobile plant.
Use of electronic diagnostic equipment.
Understanding of Main Roads WA Heavy Vehicle Services requirements and heavy vehicle roadworthiness standards.
