JS Careers are pleased to have been instructed on an exciting opportunity for an Associate or Senior Associate to join a top-tier Australian law firm with a market-leading Private Equity and M&A; offering.

This firm is seeking an ambitious and talented corporate lawyer to join their high-performing Sydney team advising private equity sponsors, institutional investors and corporate clients on a broad range of sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions. You will predominantly be reporting into one Partner but will also have the prospect to work across the broader Corporate practice.

The Role

In this role, the successful candidate can expect to work across a variety of complex matters, including:

- Private equity acquisitions, investments and exits;
- Private M&A; transactions and public takeovers;
- Carve-out transactions and consortium acquisitions;
- Growth capital investments, strategic minority investments and hybrid investment structures;
- Corporate restructures, governance and general corporate advisory matters; and
- Corporations Act advice in the context of transactional and corporate matters.

About You

To be successful,



you will ideally have:

- A Bachelor of Laws degree and holding a current practicing certificate;
- A minimum of 4 years' post-qualification experience in corporate law, ideally from a top-tier Australian, Current Zealand or leading UK law firm;
- Strong private equity experience, including advising sponsors, investors or portfolio companies as well as solid M&A; experience across a range of complex transactions;
- A strong understanding of the Corporations Act is beneficial, but not a necessity;
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and stakeholder management skills; and
- A commercial mindset and a collaborative approach to client service.
