About the role
You'll be cutting, fitting and welding chassis, suspension conversions and custom modifications on predominantly new-model trucks — taking your own measurements, and problem-solving as the job goes. Hands-on and varied, working alongside tradesmen with decades of experience.
What you'll need
- Trade qualification in welding/fabrication, or a mechanical/diesel fitting trade
- 2–3+ years in heavy vehicle, structural or plant fabrication
- Strong MIG welding
- Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Accurate measuring, marking out and cutting
- Reliable, punctual, and able to run a job without being chased
- Genuine commitment to safe work practices
Nice to have
- Truck body building or heavy vehicle modification experience
- Forklift or overhead crane ticket
What we offer
- $50 – $60 per hour, based on experience
- 6:00am start, 2:30pm finish Monday to Thursday — your afternoons are your own
- Fridays finish at 12pm — a genuine head start on the weekend, every week
