We're seeking a Systems Engineer to support the design, integration, sustainment, and ongoing performance of operational technology platforms and communications systems in a safety-critical setting. You'll work across the system lifecycle-helping deliver technical upgrades, enhancements, and support activities that ensure services continue to meet agreed performance and operational requirements.

This is a 24-month engagement, based in Brisbane or Melbourne, with an ASAP start.

You'll work across the system lifecycle-helping deliver technical upgrades, enhancements, and support activities that ensure services continue to meet agreed performance and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Support end-to-end systems engineering activities including requirements, design, integration, verification, validation, and in-service support
- Deliver technical implementation and sustainment of operational technology systems (new capability and upgrades)
- Monitor, analyze, and report on system performance, including investigation and support activities
- Produce high-quality engineering documentation (e.g., specifications, reports, feasibility studies, proposals)




- Manage configuration control across hardware/software/firmware and associated technical documentation
- Work within established safety and system management frameworks, policies, and procedures

Required Skills & Experience

- Solid systems engineering capability across the full lifecycle
- Proven experience in system design, integration, implementation, and sustainment
- Ability to troubleshoot, analyze performance, and provide structured engineering recommendations
- Experience developing formal engineering documentation
- Configuration management and change control experience in a controlled environment

Desirable

- Experience in aviation, aerodrome, or communications systems
- Exposure to continuous improvement and technology lifecycle monitoring in operational environments

Other Requirements

- Australian Citizenship is mandatory
- Must be able to obtain and maintain an Australian Government National Security Clearance
- Location: Brisbane or Melbourne
- Engagement term: 24 months
