Common Ground Queensland (CGQ) is a specialist supportive housing organisation providing supportive and affordable housing to people who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. We offer housing to individuals and families in high and medium density single site and dispersed site models.
Our supportive housing approach offers long term, safe and affordable housing that is intentionally linked to personalised support services. Support services for tenants are provided through partner organisations.
CGQ also provides tenancy support to individuals and families in partnership with support organisations to assist tenants to sustain their tenancies and maintain stable housing outcomes.

ABOUT YOU
Are you a dynamic individual with a proactive approach to maintenance tasks? We are currently seeking a Maintenance Person who embodies a "get-up-and-go" attitude and excels in physical roles. The ideal candidate will have:
A proactive approach to maintenance tasks
Prior experience in property maintenance and familiarity with preventative maintenance programs
Effective communication skills essential for interacting with stakeholders at all levels
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Valid driver's license
A readiness to take on challenges and ensure tasks are completed safely and to high standards
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Maintenance Person position is responsible for the day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of CGQ properties and their surroundings. This role is critical in promoting a positive CGQ culture and ensuring the safety and well-being of our tenants.
Key selection criteria
- 1. Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques, products and applications
- 2. Ability to operate power tools and equipment
- 3. Ability to consistently deliver high-quality work
- 4. Ability to contribute to maintenance procedures and refining maintenance outcomes
- 5. Ability to co-ordinate with other team members and work collaboratively
- 6. Ability to identify and report on issues
- 7. Demonstrated knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety relating to cleaning and maintenance issues
- 8. Ability to undertake general maintenance tasks
- 9. Willingness to undergo a criminal history check
- 10. Drivers licence
