Newlands Group is seeking an experienced Civil Draftsperson to join our growing team based in Toowoomba. Working closely with our engineers, project managers and construction teams, you will play a key role in the preparation of detailed civil construction drawings and documentation across a range of infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented qualified who enjoys seeing their designs transition from concept through to construction. You'll work on diverse projects across roads, subdivisions, water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure while being part of a collaborative and experienced team that values practical solutions and quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed civil design drawings and plans using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Develop designs and documentation for roads, subdivisions, water, sewer and stormwater infrastructure projects
- Produce construction drawings, as-constructed drawings and technical documentation
- Assist with design calculations and quantities where required
- Review design information and identify drafting discrepancies or clashes
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, surveyors and construction personnel to ensure design intent is accurately reflected
- Amend and update drawings throughout the project lifecycle
- Maintain drafting standards, drawing registers and project documentation
- Assist with the preparation of tender and project delivery documentation
About You
- Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Civil Engineering Design, Drafting or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a civil drafting role
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
- Experience preparing drawings for subdivisions, roads and underground services
- Strong understanding of civil design principles, construction methodology and local authority requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Current driver's licence
