Our Aboriginal Health Workers provide clinical and primary health care for our community. Working alongside the clinical team they provide a holistic and vital contribution to the continuity of care for our clients. Additionally, health workers provide education, promotional programs, preventative health interventions, community development programs, health screening, immunisations and assessments.

Duties

- Provide quality Aboriginal health worker client assessments, education, advocacy and cultural support to ensure a collaborative approach to client centred care.
- Ensure safety procedures are followed and contribute to a safe work setting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organisations, hospitals, and other stakeholders.
- Engage with the community in a culturally sensitive manner,



ensuring respectful and effective interactions.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Primary Health Clinic, integrating culturally safe practices.
- In collaboration with management, provide cultural support and guidance within the clinic team.
- Ensure effective implementation and maintenance of ATSICHS Policy and procedures in line with AGPAL Accreditation Standards.

- Hourly pay rate of $36.82 per hour.
- Additional 25% Casual loading +12% Super.
- Casual position.

COVID-19 Requirement

Immunisation history showing you have received two doses of a Covid -19 vaccine is encouraged.

Required

- Aboriginal Health Worker (Certificate III Primary Health Care).
- Minimum 1 years' experience in Primary Health Care
- Knowledge of culturally safe practices and sensitivity towards Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate your ability to problem solve and negotiate positive outcomes.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with a focus on client focused outcomes.
- National Police Certificate.
- Working with Children's Card (Blue Card) or be eligible to apply.
- Driver's Licence.
- Immunisation Category A.
- Evidence of Work Rights.

Preferred

- Demonstrated organisation skills, including an ability to multi-task, to plan, set and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines, and to work independently, efficiently and effectively.
- Knowledge of and experience working with - MMEx.
