Timberman & Co is a Sydney-based carpentry contractor located in Matraville NSW 2036 providing professional carpentry services for residential and commercial construction projects across the greater Sydney area.

Timberman & Co is now looking for an experienced Carpenter to join their team.

The right candidate will be responsible for:

- Read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, and job requirements for residential and commercial carpentry projects.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape, and assemble timber and other building materials to required dimensions and specifications.
- Construct, erect, install, and repair timber wall frames, roof framing, floor systems, partitions, and other structural components.
- Install doors, door frames, windows, skirting boards, architraves, mouldings, and other internal and external carpentry finishes.
- Construct and install external timber structures, including decking, pergolas, stairs, balustrades, and related features.
- Carry out alterations, renovations, maintenance, and repairs to existing timber structures and building components.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and carpentry equipment safely and effectively to complete assigned work.
- Work safely at heights and on construction sites, including the appropriate use of ladders, scaffolding,



and elevated work platforms where required.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, builders, subcontractors, and other trades to ensure carpentry work is completed according to project requirements and schedules.
- Ensure carpentry work meets relevant Australian building codes, construction standards, WHS requirements, and company procedures.
- Maintain tools, equipment, materials, and work areas in a protected, clean, and organised condition.
- Identify and report construction issues, material requirements, job progress, and completed works to the relevant supervisor.

About you:

- At least 1 year of experience as a Carpenter;
- Skilled in cutting, shaping, assembling, and installing timber and related materials for residential repairs and renovations.
- Able to read and interpret plans, drawings, and job instructions for a wide range of carpentry tasks.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess issues on-site and implement practical, safe solutions.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual work, including tasks involving ladders, confined spaces, and varied site conditions.

Job Type: Permanent/full-time
Salary: $79,000 - $85,000 per year
