We are looking for a Procurement & QA Specialist to join the team! In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the procurement of goods and services while ensuring that purchasing activities, suppliers, materials and operational processes meet the organisation's quality, compliance and contractual requirements. This is a full-time ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in South Hedland, WA.

Main tasks:

1. Strategic Procurement & Supplier Management

-Identify, evaluate, and onboard suppliers of regulated raw materials in alignment with organisational, legal, and safety requirements.

-Negotiate contracts, pricing, and supply agreements to ensure cost‑effective and reliable material availability.

-Maintain strong supplier relationships and conduct regular performance reviews.

-Monitor global supply trends, risks, and emerging issues affecting material availability.

2. Quality Assurance & Compliance





-Apply food technology QA principles—such as HACCP-style risk assessment, traceability systems, and specification control—to ensure raw materials meet stringent quality and regulatory standards.

-Collaborate with Quality, R&D;, and Safety teams to maintain accurate material specifications and acceptance criteria.

-Conduct supplier audits focusing on quality systems, documentation integrity, contamination prevention, and process controls.

-Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legislation, licensing requirements, and internal governance frameworks.

3. Risk Management & Material Integrity

-Assess risks associated with sourcing regulated materials, including supply chain vulnerabilities, quality deviations, and compliance gaps.

-Implement QA-driven preventive controls to minimise variability and ensure consistent material performance.

-Support incident investigations related to material quality or supply disruptions.

4. Documentation & Traceability

-Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier certifications, and compliance documentation.

-Apply mining industry traceability principles to ensure full visibility of material origin, handling, and chain-of-custody.





-Support internal and external audits by providing clear, complete procurement and quality documentation.

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration

-Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, R&D; to align procurement decisions with operational needs.

-Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving material quality, reducing waste, and enhancing supply chain resilience.

-Provide technical insights on material properties, quality parameters, and supplier capabilities.

Required/Relevant Qualifications & Work Experience:

-Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field plus minimum 1 year’ relevant work experience in the last 5 years.

-3 years’ relevant work experience may substitute the formal qualification.

Required/Relevant Skills & Knowledge:

-High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

-Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

-Ethical decision-making and commitment to compliance.

-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a regulated environment.

-Experience in procurement within a regulated industry (e.g., mining).

-Demonstrated experience applying quality assurance frameworks to supplier or material management.

-Experience conducting supplier audits and managing technical documentation.

-Knowledge of relevant regulatory and safety requirements (kept general).
