About Unmatched Support Services

Unmatched Support Services is a registered NDIS provider delivering person-centred disability supports across Victoria. We support participants to live with greater independence, choice and control while receiving safe, consistent and respectful support tailored to their individual needs.

Our services include Supported Independent Living (SIL), community access and participation, in-home support and other individualised disability supports. We work closely with participants, families, support coordinators and allied health professionals to provide responsive and coordinated care.

We value Support Workers who communicate well, take accountability for their responsibilities of the role, identify and escalate concerns appropriately, maintain strong professional boundaries and contribute positively to a participant’s care team.

About the role

We are seeking experienced Support Workers to provide consistent, person-centred support to three adults living together in a SIL home in Shepparton.

You will support participants with varying mobility, communication and clinical needs while helping maintain a safe, calm and comfortable home workplace.

The type of worker we need

We need someone who:

- Has genuine SIL or complex in-home support experience.

- Is reliable and does not cancel or change availability at the last minute.

- Can work independently without needing constant direction.

- Thinks ahead and raises concerns before they become urgent.

- Understands that this is the participants’ home - not a facility.

- Can work cooperatively with another worker during overlapping and 2:1 support.

- Respects participant choice without overlooking health or safety requirements.

- Communicates clearly with participants, families, coordinators, GPs, pharmacies and allied-health professionals.

- Completes accurate progress notes, charts, incident reports and handovers.

- Can remain calm when participants are confused, repetitive, anxious, unwell or require reassurance.

- Is comfortable supporting participants of different genders with personal care.

- Can prepare suitable home-cooked meals and maintain a clean, organised house.

What will help you succeed in this house:

Due to the support needs of this shared SIL home, this role will be best suited to Support Workers who:

- Have recent personal care experience and provide support with dignity and respect.

- Are confident with hoists, manual handling, continence care and medication support.

- Provide consistent and reliable availability to support continuity of care.

- Take a proactive approach, identifying and escalating participant or household needs early.

- Complete clear and accurate documentation, including shift notes, observations and handovers.

- Work collaboratively with other Support Workers, including during 2:1 supports and transfers.

- Take a person-centred approach to SIL, recognising that this is first and foremost the participants’ home.

- Confidently follow clinical, medication, mealtime and individual support plans.

- Adapt their communication and support style to each participant’s individual needs.

Mandatory Compliance requirements:

- Relevant Certificate III or higher in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services or a related qualification is preferred.

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

- Current National Police Check.

- Current First Aid and CPR.

- Current Victorian driver’s licence.

- Reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance where transport is required.

- Right to work in Australia.

- Medication administration competency or willingness to complete competency assessment before administering medication.

- Manual-handling and hoist competency.

- Catheter care management.

- Ability to complete required participant-specific training before working independently.

- Availability for a combination of morning, afternoon, evening, weekend and sleepover shifts.

Interested?

If you have the experience, reliability and person-centred approach we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume outlining your relevant SIL and disability support experience.
