About the role

Illawarra Industrial Supplies is seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Storeman to join our team in Unanderra, NSW.

This is a full-time, hands-on warehouse position involving receiving goods, picking and packing orders, dispatch, manual handling and general warehouse duties.

Please note: This is not a forklift-only position. While forklift operation forms part of the role, successful applicants must be willing and able to undertake all aspects of warehouse work, including manual handling, picking and packing and assisting customers.

An important part of this role is progression into direct customer sales. As your product knowledge and experience develop, you will be expected to assist customers directly, provide product advice, process sales and become an active part of our customer service and sales team.

We are also happy to consider applicants looking to start or develop their career in warehousing, including Junior Warehouse Storeman applicants aged 18 years and over.

Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.

What you'll be doing

- Receiving, checking, processing and storing incoming goods and materials

- Picking and packing customer orders accurately and efficiently

- Preparing and dispatching orders on time

- Loading and unloading deliveries

- Operating forklifts, pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment

- Operating paint mixing and dispensing systems

- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe warehouse

- Following workplace health and safety procedures

- Assisting customers with the collection and loading of orders

- Developing product knowledge across our range of construction and industrial products





- Progressively assisting customers with product selection and advice as your knowledge develops

- Processing direct customer and counter sales

- Providing friendly and professional customer service

- Supporting other members of the warehouse and sales team as required

What we're looking for

Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates a good attitude and willingness to learn.

Ideally, you will have:

- Previous experience in warehousing, stores or logistics – preferred but not essential

- Experience or knowledge within the construction, waterproofing, coatings or related trades – advantageous but not essential

- A strong work ethic and reliable approach to work

- Good organisational and time-management skills

- Good attention to detail

- The ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team

- The confidence and willingness to deal directly with customers

- Good communication and customer service skills

- A willingness to learn our products and develop the knowledge required to provide customers with appropriate advice

- A current forklift licence, or willingness to obtain one

- The physical fitness required to undertake regular manual handling duties

- The ability to safely handle and lift products weighing up to 40kg,



with lifting devices and other equipment available to assist where appropriate
