Allura Partners are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a PE backed Infrastructure business on a search for a Head of FP&A.; The role sits at the centre of the group and will be the senior finance voice inside it, reporting straight into the GM of Finance and working closely with the COO. You'll lead a team of five, own the numbers for the division end to end and be the person the business turns to when it needs to understand performance or make a capital call.
Head of FP&A; | Sydney, NSW
The role
- Lead and develop the FP&A; team and act as the primary finance business partner to the leadership group, including the COO, GMs and managers across the division
- Own monthly reporting and analysis, including P&L; reviews, management and board packs, BU reports and investor presentations
- Run the annual budget cycle and quarterly rolling 12 month forecasts, feeding financial outputs into the group consolidation system
- Deliver variance analysis against budget, prior forecast, strategic plan and prior year, with a focus on making it genuinely useful to decision makers, not just accurate
- Provide budgeting and forecasting support and tactical assistance to the division as issues come up day to day, not just at reporting deadlines
- Get involved in ad hoc business analysis and reporting for the executive leadership team
- Support long term strategic planning for the division, connecting the numbers back to where the business is trying to go
- Build and improve financial models and BI reporting tools, including ongoing development work on consolidation and reporting
- Support business case development and facilitate capital allocation decisions, helping the business get a proper return on what it spends
- Identify gaps or inefficiencies in financial reporting processes and fix them
What you'll bring
- CA qualified, Big 4 or mid-tier background
- 10+ years' experience in FP&A; or commercial finance, ideally with exposure to a similarly complex operating setting
- Runs on the ground experience leading a small team, not just managing up
- Solid financial modelling skills, with the ability to use technology to make models more robust and easier for stakeholders to actually use
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
- Good working knowledge of AI tools and how they can speed up reporting and modelling
- Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders, including regional operations leaders and national management
