A well-established public practice firm in Canberra is looking for a Senior Accountant to join their Tax & Business Advisory team. This firm offers progression, learning and development and a great internal team.
What you'll be doing
- Managing a portfolio of clients across a mix of industries — from owner-operators to larger private groups
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements, tax returns and BAS/IAS for companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals
- Providing proactive tax planning and business advisory support, not just compliance after the fact
- Mentoring junior and intermediate accountants, reviewing their work and building their technical skills
- Building direct relationships with clients and partners — you'll be a genuine point of contact, not just a name on a file
What you'll bring
- CA or CPA qualified (or close to completion)
- 4+ years' experience in Australian public practice, ideally with solid exposure to tax and business advisory work
- Robust technical knowledge across income tax, CGT, Division 7A and trust structures
- The confidence to run client conversations yourself, and the judgement to know when to bring in a partner
- A genuine interest in the commercial side of the client's business, not just the numbers
