About the position
As a Junior Roster Coordinator, you will support the Workforce Planning team by assisting with staff rostering, workforce administration, and schedule coordination. Working in a rapid-paced environment, you will help maintain accurate rosters, coordinate roster changes, support shift coverage, and ensure workforce information is kept up to date. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administration and customer service skills who is looking to build a career in workforce planning and rostering.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update staff rosters, availability, leave, and shift information.
- Respond to rostering enquiries from staff, clients, and internal teams, providing excellent customer service.
- Assist with filling vacant shifts and supporting roster coverage.
- Communicate roster changes and updates to staff and stakeholders.
- Respond to routine rostering enquiries from staff, clients, and service teams.
- Maintain accurate workforce and rostering records in relevant systems.
- Support payroll accuracy through roster checking and data validation.
- Identify and escalate roster, compliance, or workforce issues when required.
- Provide administrative support to the Workforce Planning team and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
To be successful in this position, candidates must be able to demonstrate the capability to meet the criteria outlined below:
Essential criteria
- Experience in administration, customer service, scheduling or a similar support role.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
- Ability to follow established procedures and seek guidance when required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook and Excel.
- Willingness to learn rostering systems such as Tanda.
- Proficient computer skills
- Valid Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check and Police Check.
- Willingness to undertake training relevant to rostering, compliance and systems use.
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in disability, aged care, home care, community services or rostering.
- Basic understanding of the SCHADS Award.
- Experience using Tanda or similar rostering/workforce management systems.
- Training or qualifications in business administration, community services or human resources.
