About the role:

Seymour College is seeking a passionate and dynamic Bands and Percussion Coordinator to lead and develop our outstanding Bands and Percussion programs across our Junior and Middle/Senior campuses. Reporting to the Director of Performance, this pivotal role will oversee all band and percussion-related activities including immersion programs, ensemble programs, concerts, tours, and community events.

This role is offered at 32 hours, across 41 weeks of the year. The key responsibilities are to:

- Coordinate and conduct ensembles across both campuses, including Concert Bands.
- Lead the Band Immersion Program, managing tutors and resources.
- Plan, manage and deliver concerts, tours and community events such as Generations in Jazz and the SA School Band and Orchestra Festival.
- Oversee repertoire, consumables and equipment, including the maintenance and repair of wind, brass and percussion instruments.
- Collaborate with Performance staff, tutors and administrative teams to ensure high-quality programs and seamless delivery of events.
- Mentor students, extend advanced learners and provide opportunities for participation in College and external events.
- Serve as Musical Director for the College Musical, conducting the orchestra or band.

About you:

The successful candidate will hold:

- Qualifications and extensive experience in Music Performance and/or Education.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting Concert Bands and delivering Band Immersion programs.
- Solid leadership and mentoring abilities, with the capacity to inspire students and support tutors.




- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills, fostering collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Current South Australian WWCC, RRHAN-EC Fundamentals & Masterclass certification, and First Aid in an education setting (HLTAID012) or willingness to obtain.
- A commitment to the values and ethos of Seymour College.
