About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client's team in Lane Cove. This is a key role for an experienced QS who enjoys working across complex construction and remedial projects, providing commercially sound advice and delivering accurate cost management solutions. You will lead the estimating function while working closely with Building Consultants and Project Managers across the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and tendering through to construction and finalisation.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the estimating team, allocate workloads and manage priorities
- Prepare quantity take-offs, BOQs, cost plans and pre-tender estimates
- Prepare litigation-compliant reports and detailed cost analyses
- Complete cost estimates based on measured scopes of work
- Review and assess contractor quotations against industry benchmarks
- Undertake tender analysis and contractor comparisons
- Assess variations, progress claims and project financial reporting
- Monitor project costs from feasibility through to completion
- Interpret designs and quantify new and remedial works
- Conduct cost reviews and provide value management advice
- Identify budgetary concerns and financial risks
- Work collaboratively with Building Consultants and Project Managers to deliver commercially sound outcomes

Skills & Experience

- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering or a related field
- Minimum 5-7 years' experience in quantity surveying, estimating or cost management
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, sequencing and cost structures
- Experience with remedial or rectification projects is highly regarded




- High-level Microsoft Office skills
- Proficiency in CostX and Bluebeam preferred
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent time management and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused approach
