About the Role:
As our next Procurement Officer, you will support Maritime Constructions' procurement and asset management functions through strategic sourcing, supplier engagement and commercial procurement activities. Working closely with operational and project stakeholders, you will contribute to procurement planning, supplier performance, contract administration and commercial analysis to help deliver value for money, operational efficiency and organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support procurement planning activities across business units, projects and asset maintenance activities;
· Raise purchase orders and receipt goods within the ERP system, and prepare quotations and related procurement documentation;
· Conduct supplier sourcing activities and market research to identify suitable suppliers;
· Participate in supplier evaluation and selection processes and support competitive quotation and tender processes;
· Assist in preparing procurement recommendations based on commercial and technical evaluation;
· Analyse procurement expenditure, supplier pricing and purchasing trends to identify procurement efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities;
· Monitor supplier performance against agreed service levels and KPIs and assist in analysing procurement risks;
· Develop and maintain productive supplier relationships, support contract administration and monitor supplier compliance with contractual obligations;
· Provide procurement guidance to project and operational teams, interpret procurement policies and promote compliance with organisational procurement governance;
· Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives;
· Provide outstanding customer service and reliable procurement support to asset and project teams.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Commerce, Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics or Engineering, or at least five years of relevant professional experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain or a related field.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to interpret commercial information and procurement documentation.
- Experience preparing purchase orders, quotations or other procurement documentation.
- Exposure to supplier relationship management and strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Experience using ERP or procurement systems, analysing data and preparing procurement reports.
- Experience in procurement, purchasing, commercial administration or supply chain is desirable.
- National Police Check and a current C-Class Driver's Licence.
- Forklift and EWP tickets are desirable.
- Ability to undertake occasional out-of-hours work and regional or interstate travel where required.
