We are seeking a dynamic and strategically minded Director of Sport. This is an exciting leadership opportunity for an experienced sports professional and passionate educator to provide strategic, operational and inspirational leadership across the College’s sports program.

The Director of Sport will have overarching responsibility for the quality, integrity and success of the sports program, encompassing both school/interschool competitions, Academy and excellence programs. The role will champion participation, athlete development, competitive performance and student wellbeing, while fostering a culture where excellence, sportsmanship, effort and achievement are celebrated at every level.

Working closely with students, staff, families and the wider sporting community, you will:





- Develop and implement a strategic vision for the College’s sports program.

- Lead competitive, recreational and high-performance sporting programs.

- Drive athlete development, talent identification and performance pathways.

- Lead and develop a diverse team of coaches, coordinators, instructors, teachers and sports staff.

- Oversee sporting operations, budgets, facilities, equipment and resources.

- Coordinate major sporting events, competitions and community activities.

- Build strong relationships with sporting organisations and external partners.

- Promote the College’s sporting achievements and strengthen school spirit.

- Embed a culture of safety, inclusion, wellbeing and continuous improvement.

Importantly, this role also has a teaching component (at the Principal’s discretion). We are seeking an educator who can engage and inspire students both in the classroom and through curriculum and co-curricular sport.

You will be a member of the College’s Senior Leadership Team and will work collaboratively with the Principal, Deputy Principal, Assistant Principals, Directors and other Middle Leaders.

Selection Criteria

You will be an accomplished sports leader with demonstrated experience in competitive school and/or high-performance sport,



together with the ability to translate strategic vision into outstanding sporting outcomes.

You will bring:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Exercise Science, HPE, Sports Management, Business Management or an equivalent discipline.

- Strong experience leading competitive school and high-performance sporting programs.

- Demonstrated capability managing people, budgets, facilities and other resources.

- Strategic and operational planning capability.

- Strong technical knowledge of sport, sporting bodies and athlete pathways.

- Exceptional interpersonal, communication and organisational skills.

- A commitment to integrity, sound judgement, service and student wellbeing.

- Current Queensland College of Teachers registration, or a Working with Children Blue Card, together with First Aid and CPR certification.

You will be a collaborative and resilient leader who brings energy, initiative and emotional intelligence to your work and who understands the power of sport to develop confidence, character, belonging and lifelong wellbeing.
