Roster Planner / Workforce Coordinator – Critical Care (Remote)
Full-time | 38 hours per week | Work from home | 7-day rotating roster
12 Month Time-limited contract with the genuine opportunity to go permanant
This is NOT a standard rostering or scheduling role.
Intensive Care At Home provides high-acuity critical care to clients in their own homes across Australia. Our service operates 24/7, 365 days a year, and our roster team plays a critical role in ensuring our clients receive the nursing care they need.
We are looking for a Roster Planner / Workforce Coordinator who is highly organised, resilient and genuinely enjoys solving complex problems.
You will manage the 4-week advance roster for our critical care registered nurses, while responding to changes and challenges as they arise.
What makes this role different?
When a nurse cancels a shift at short notice, we cannot simply leave the shift unfilled.
You will need to think quickly, communicate confidently and find creative solutions to maintain coverage.
You will be responsible for:
- Building and managing the 4-week advance nursing roster
- Proactively identifying and preventing potential roster gaps
- Managing short-notice cancellations and urgent staffing changes
- Finding creative solutions when the obvious staffing option isn't available
- Balancing client requirements, nurse availability, skills and operational priorities
- Maintaining solid relationships with nurses, clients and families
- Being a key first point of contact for staff and clients
- Keeping accurate roster records and ensuring changes are communicated
- Looking ahead and continuously planning for future staffing requirements
About you
You are someone who:
- Has experience in rostering, workforce coordination, staffing, scheduling or operations
- Is exceptionally organised and detail-oriented
- Can manage multiple competing priorities without becoming overwhelmed
- Thinks quickly and creatively when things change
- Someone who is resilient and works comfortably under pressure.
- Is confident making decisions and solving problems independently
- Communicates professionally and confidently
- Takes ownership and follows problems through to resolution
- Is comfortable working in a 24/7 operational environment
Healthcare or community care experience is highly regarded, but you don't need to be a nurse. What matters most is your ability to coordinate people, solve problems and perform under pressure.
The roster
This is a 38-hour full-time position on a rotating 7-day roster, including:
Days | Nights | Weekends | Public Holidays
You will receive your 4-week roster in advance.
This is a fully remote work-from-home position, available anywhere in Australia ONLY.
The right mindset
You don't wait for problems to become emergencies. You see them coming.
You don't stop when the first solution doesn't work. You find another solution.
You don't simply fill shifts. You understand the people behind the roster.
If you thrive on complexity, enjoy solving problems and take pride in making sure the job gets done, we'd like to hear from you.
Please apply via SEEK only. To ensure a fair and streamlined recruitment process, please do not contact the Company or Directors directly regarding this position.
