- $82,220 - $95,766 per annum (depending on experience) + 12% superannuation

About the team
The Payroll team plays a critical role in supporting over 1,500 + Council employees, delivering accurate and timely payroll services while providing trusted advice and support across the organisation. About the role
The Payroll Officer is responsible for providing support to the Payroll team, ensuring all aspects of payroll services and processes are efficiently completed within timeframes and with a high level of accuracy.

The role is also responsible for responding to staff payroll enquiries, ensuring all matters are investigated and responded to in a timely manner.

Other responsibilities include:

- Timely process and delivery of accurate Payroll Services in accordance with the provisions of Industrial Awards, Industrial Agreements, other Relevant Legislation and Council Policies.
- Assist in the maintenance of masterfile changes ensuring the integrity of the payroll and personnel system is maintained and enhanced.
- Ensure quality control of all forms in regard to the relevant payrolls, investigating and correcting any identifiable errors through liaison with the relevant manager or supervisor.
- Prepare and calculate employee leave payments ensuring employee has adequate leave balance and in accordance with Relevant Legislation.
- Account for earnings through reconciliation, payroll costings, payment summaries, response to surveys and enquiries.
- Process new starters and employee terminations.
- Prepare and organise payments to superannuation funds.

About you
You have sound payroll experience and can confidently interpret Awards, Acts and regulations in a practical and accurate way.





You bring experience from a similar-sized organisation and use your analytical skills to improve payroll systems, processes and service delivery.

The following are also required:

- Experience working with payroll systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to analyse payroll data and provide advice and support across the organisation.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and identifying more efficient, cost-effective ways of working.
