Care in Action
With a career at the TAC, you’ll be helping us look out for the lives of everyone who travels on Victoria’s roads. That’s care in action.
Find out more about our shared purpose, and what drives every one of us.
Right now, we’re seeking Cloud Engineers who will play their part in this shared purpose, while also supporting the progress of clients and colleagues so they can achieve great things. That’s truly rewarding work that will help us continue to deliver life-critical services where it matters.
About the roles
The TAC is building a newly established engineering team to support a major enterprise technology transformation, and we’re looking for three experienced Cloud Engineers to help shape what comes next.
This is an opportunity to move beyond traditional operations and have genuine ownership and influence over TAC’s future-state technology environment. You will work across the design, implementation, operation and continuous optimisation of modern cloud and Microsoft technologies, contributing to a new Microsoft tenant, cloud-first services and up-to-date engineering practices supporting approximately 1,900 users and 2,500 devices.
You will work in a cross-functional environment alongside architects, engineers, security specialists and delivery teams, applying automation, Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices to build secure, reliable and scalable technology services.
We’re looking for engineers with different areas of expertise. While all three roles share a strong cloud engineering foundation, each has a different technical focus:
- Endpoint (Intune): Own and evolve TAC’s Microsoft Intune environment, supporting more than 1,800 Windows 11 devices and 700 corporate mobile devices. You’ll work across Autopilot, Autopatch, BYOD and modern endpoint security, helping shape TAC’s cloud-native workplace.
- Microsoft 365: Shape the future of collaboration and productivity services for 1900 users, with a focus on Exchange Online, Microsoft Teams and modern workplace technologies. Experience with Teams Telephony, Teams Rooms, Entra ID, security operations, automation and Atlassian platforms will be highly regarded.
- Cloud Platform & Security: Help design, build and operate TAC’s future cloud platform across Azure infrastructure and PaaS services. You’ll bring experience across Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, automation and DevOps, with Azure, AWS, GitHub Enterprise and modern cloud security experience highly valued.
When applying, you will be asked to rank your preferred specialisation from 1–3 and provide details of your experience against each area. This will help us match your skills and interests to the right opportunity within the team.
About the Team
This role sits within the Enterprise Transformation division, which brings together business, digital, change and delivery expertise to deliver TAC’s strategic transformation agenda.
Reporting to the Digital Workplace Manager, you will join a newly formed engineering team at an exciting point in TAC’s technology transformation. The team will complement existing capability across infrastructure, identity and application development, creating a collaborative environment where engineers can influence standards, architecture and ways of working from the ground up, helping shape TAC’s future-state technology platform.
What we’re looking for
Cloud Engineering Expertise
You bring experience implementing and operating enterprise technology services in complex environments, with a solid understanding of reliability, security, automation and operational best practice. You’re comfortable working across the full technology lifecycle and solving complex technical problems.
Specialist Technical Capability
You bring depth in at least one of our three focus areas, Intune/Endpoint, Microsoft 365, or Cloud Platform & Security, alongside a willingness to collaborate across the broader engineering environment. Experience with modern cloud platforms, automation, scripting and DevOps practices will be highly valued.
Collaborative Engineer & Problem Solver
You’re a hands-on engineer who enjoys working with architects, engineers,
security specialists and business stakeholders to solve problems and deliver integrated outcomes. You bring strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, a continuous improvement mindset and the curiosity to help shape a new engineering capability.
Why you’ll love it here
There’s more to work than a competitive salary and amazing employee benefits. As our newest Cloud Engineer, you’ll also:
Make a positive difference
Every day the work you do at the TAC contributes to something bigger. As part of an inclusive, supportive team you’ll find real purpose in achieving goals, together.
Be rewarded for great work
We value our people, offering a service delivery payment, salary packaging and a reward and recognition program.
Grow and go places
We’re invested in your progress. When you work for one of Victoria’s largest and leading workplaces, you’ll receive extensive internal opportunities for development and access to the LinkedIn Learning Digital Hub.
