The Financial Reporting Group
The Financial Reporting Group is made up of two teams, Accounting Policy and Consolidated Reporting and Analysis. The Group is responsible for managing the preparation and delivery of the financial reporting aspects of key DTF products. These include the State's annual Budget Papers, Annual Financial Report for the State of Victoria, Mid-Year Financial Report, Quarterly Financial Reports and Budget Update.

The Group also manages and supports the State's financial reporting framework and whole-of-state financial information management systems, supporting financial reporting across the Victorian public sector. In addition, the Group provides expert advice on accounting and financial reporting issues to support informed government decision-making and ensures the State meets its parliamentary and statutory reporting obligations.

About the role
As a Senior Analyst in the Accounting Policy team, you will be responsible for providing sound advice to internal and external stakeholders on a broad range of accounting and financial reporting issues. You will be working in a dynamic environment with a range of responsibilities and communicate with stakeholders across Budget and Finance Division,



DTF and the public service.

You will contribute to robust financial management and reporting practices across the Victorian Public Sector, through the ongoing maintenance and continuous improvement of the State's accounting and financial reporting policy framework. You will also contribute to the State's sustainability reporting framework development and implementation, and the Independent Quality Assurance of the Department's budget and financial publications. In addition, you will contribute to enhancing the financial capability of the Victorian Public Sector through the development and delivery of finance training to key stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

· Develop, manage and improve accounting and financial reporting policy frameworks and standards that support robust financial management and reporting practices across the Victorian Public Sector;· Have specialist technical accounting and financial reporting expertise and be relied on for authoritative advice on accounting and financial reporting issues, transactions and initiatives;· Contribute to the State's sustainability reporting policy development and implementation within the Victorian public sector;· Contribute to financial reporting and reform projects, including new standards implementation, tiered reporting framework and other emerging projects;· Support the Financial Reporting Group in Victoria's contribution to the Heads of Treasury Accounting and Reporting Advisory Committee (HoTARAC), including liaising with other jurisdiction representatives on accounting and reporting issues,



coordinating HoTARAC submissions to standard setters and other matters;· Contribute to financial reporting capability uplift initiatives through the development and delivery of finance training to key stakeholders;· Contribute to the quality assurance of the Department's products and publications;· Build and maintain effective relationships across departments, portfolio entities and auditors to support alignment, consultation and successful delivery of key initiatives; and· Actively support and contribute to organisational goals, demonstrate organisational values and behaviours, and a commitment to personal and career development. Mandatory requirements

- Tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, business, or other related discipline; and
- Full membership of either CPA Australia or the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand
