Cardiac Sonographer –
Join Australia’s Growing National Federal Initiative
On Cardiac Network
Positions available in all states across Australia | Full-time & adaptable opportunities | Paid travel | Company car I Career progression I Yearly Bonus & Other Employee Incentives
Are you an experienced Cardiac Sonographer looking for something beyond the traditional hospital or clinic role?
The HeartScreen is growing nationally, and we’re looking for exceptional Cardiac Sonographers who want greater variety, autonomy and genuine career progression.
This is not a role where you will spend every day in the same scanning room.
Depending on your position and location, your week could include working within one of our partner GP or specialist clinics, delivering a major corporate heart screening program, travelling with our mobile team to a regional community, or completing approved administrative and management responsibilities from home.
As we continue to expand nationally, we are looking for people who want to grow with us, including sonographers interested in progressing into Senior, State, National Clinical and Management roles.
Why The HeartScreen is Different
We have built a mobile-first cardiac diagnostic model designed to take specialist cardiac services directly to people, rather than expecting every patient to navigate the traditional hospital system.
Our Cardiac Sonographers work across a diverse range of environments, including:
- GP and specialist clinics
- Corporate workplaces and national employee health programs
- Community healthcare services
- Aged care facilities
- Regional and outreach programs
- Mobile cardiac diagnostic services
You will have the opportunity to work independently while remaining connected to an experienced national clinical and operational team, with access to reporting cardiologists and clinical support when required.
A Career With an Executive Future Pathway – Not Just Another Scanning Position
We want our Cardiac Sonographers to have the opportunity to develop beyond their day-to-day clinical workload.
As The HeartScreen continues its national expansion, opportunities exist for high-performing team members to move into areas such as:
- Senior Cardiac Sonographer positions
- Clinical leadership
- State and regional management
- National clinical operations
- Corporate program leadership
- Training, quality and clinical governance
- Team management and mentoring
- Operational and business development responsibilities
For suitable roles, there may also be opportunities for hybrid working arrangements, including working part time and full time roles, working from home for admin and management, administrative, programming, reporting-support and operational responsibilities.
If you have leadership capability, we want to develop it.
About the Role
You will perform high quality cardiac diagnostic services while representing The HeartScreen across our growing national network.
Depending on your experience and the programs operating in your region, responsibilities may include:
- Independently performing high-quality Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE)
- Stress Echocardiography where appropriately qualified and required
- Fitting Holter and Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors
- Supporting preventative corporate cardiac screening programs
- Delivering exceptional patient-centred care
- Producing accurate clinical documentation for cardiologist reporting
- Working collaboratively with GPs, cardiologists and other healthcare professionals
- Supporting mobile and regional cardiac programs
- Maintaining portable ultrasound and diagnostic equipment
- Building strong relationships with partner clinics and healthcare organisations
- Supporting the development of new clinical programs as the organisation expands
Travel – With Variety Built In
Some positions include regional and interstate travel.
Travel is planned and paid for by The HeartScreen if and when required, including required flights and accommodation.
Rather than travelling continuously, our mobile programs are generally delivered in scheduled blocks, giving our team the opportunity to experience different parts of Australia while remaining part of a stable national organisation.
If you enjoy variety, it can be one of the best parts of the role.
About You
We are looking for people who are clinically strong, professional and genuinely good with patients.
You are comfortable working autonomously, but you also enjoy being part of a supportive team.
Most importantly, you want to be part of an organisation that is growing and where your contribution can lead to something bigger.
