Job Summary: The Food Service Assistant are responsible for preparing and serving meals to patients, residents, and staff in a healthcare setting. This role ensures that all meals are prepared according to dietary guidelines and served in a courteous and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation: Assist in the preparation of meals, ensuring adherence to dietary requirements and food safety standards.
Serving Meals: Serve meals to patients, residents, and staff, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and courteously.
Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and disposing of waste.
Inventory Management: Assist in monitoring and managing food supplies, reporting shortages, and assisting with inventory checks.
Compliance: Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous experience in Aged Care or a related field is essential.
Skills: Solid customer service skills, ability to work in a rapid-paced setting, and excellent communication skills. IDDSI knowledge.
Certifications: Food handler’s certificate, NDIS screening, Police check, Covid and Flu Vaccination.
Working Conditions:
Environment: Healthcare facility setting, involving standing for long periods and potential exposure to kitchen hazards.
Hours: Casual as required
