Are you an Occupational Therapist who feels like therapy shouldn’t always happen in a clinic?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our growing equine-assisted occupational therapy service.
This is an prospect to step outside the traditional therapy room and deliver OT in an outdoor, nature-based setting where horses become part of the therapeutic process.
Previous equine experience is highly regarded but is not essential. Training and support will be provided for the right OT. This is still Occupational Therapy. Although our setting is different, our clinical standards are not.
What does the role look like?
You will work alongside horses to deliver individualised OT interventions targeting areas such as:
Emotional regulation and self-regulation
Sensory processing and regulation
Executive functioning
Attention and concentration
Communication and social skills
Confidence and self-esteem
Problem-solving and flexible thinking
Motor planning and coordination
Following instructions and sequencing
Independence and responsibility
Building relationships and understanding body language
Participation in meaningful occupations
