The Andersen Partnership have been instructed by a well-established specialist Planning & Environment law firm in Sydney is seeking a lawyer with 1+ years’ post-qualification experience to join its team on a permanent basis.

This firm is known for its solid reputation in planning and environmental law and works predominantly with local and state government clients , alongside a carefully selected private developer practice. Workflow is consistent year-round, supported by existing government panel appointments and upcoming panel outcomes.

The Role

You will work across a mix of advisory and contentious planning and workplace matters, with early responsibility and solid client exposure. Lawyers at junior levels work closely with partners, benefiting from hands-on mentoring and direct involvement in matters rather than being siloed behind layers of hierarchy.

The firm operates a structured but supportive development model, where junior lawyers rotate between partners over time, allowing for broad exposure across the practice and clear progression based on merit.

About You

This role will suit a lawyer with:




1+ PQE in planning & environment law (or a closely aligned public/public sector practice)
Public sector experience at local or state government level (desirable)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A collaborative approach and genuine interest in specialist planning work

Lawyers from interstate or New Zealand will also be considered, provided they have relevant public sector experience.
