A fantastic career opportunity for an experienced ED leader, with the ability to provide clinical excellence and care across the Emergency Department, focusing on the paediatrics zone.

As the ED NUM (Paediatrics), you will make an impact by providing day to day operational direction for the emergency department ensuring efficient and effective management of the area.

You will:


- Work with the ED Manager to provide operational direction for the department to ensure efficient and effective management

- coordinate the delivery of assessment,





paediatrics and short stay emergency nursing care that is evidence based

- undertake direct patient care as required, providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the emergency team

- be passionate about delivering an exceptional patient experience for our patients and their families

- lead and foster excellence and promote a high standard of evidenced based emergency care

- implement new systems and practices according to service and patient need.

Opening October 2018, the Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) will be a fully licensed private hospital, provide care to public and private patients from an outstanding facility with a large range of quality services provided by exceptional midwives, nurses, doctors and staff. We will have a team of well-regarded Obstetricians who together with our highly experienced Maternity team, will provide exceptional care.

The ED service delivery model at NBH focuses on a senior workforce (nursing & medical) at the frontline, with a team approach incorporating junior members of staff. This ensures timely & appropriate decision-making about patient care & ensures that junior staff are supported in their learning within this often stressful environment. Comprising 50 beds & treatment spaces, the large ground floor area is divided into zones: assessment; paediatrics; short stay / adult; resuscitation (paediatrics & adult) mental health assessment.

We are looking for individuals that can demonstrate:

- Current Registration with AHPRA
- Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care
- A minimum of 12 months nursing level experience in an acute setting;
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Post graduate qualification in emergency care
- Post graduate qualification in leadership or management (or equivalent)
- Demonstrated recent experience in team leading within an emergency department
- Recent Emergency Paediatrics experience
- Advanced clinical competence and proven experience in clinical supervision
- Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
- Passionate about building strong relationships and delivering exceptional customer service
- Demonstrated skills in workforce planning, rostering and working within budgeted work hours
- High level of planning and organising skills
- Strong influencing skills with a demonstrated ability to adapt personal style to suit a varied audience & a variety of interpersonal styles
- High degree of computer literacy
- Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care
