The College of Business comprises six schools delivering a broad range of programs in Business, ranging from Certificates up to PHD levels. Many programs articulate between Vocational Education and Higher Education, creating pathways for further study. RMIT Business programs are delivered in Melbourne, Vietnam, Singapore, Shanghai and Jakarta,





as well as through Open Universities Australia (OUA).

The Department of Economics and Finance was formed in 1990. The School of Economics, Finance and Marketing was formed in 2005 and has strong research and teaching interests with in excess of 5,000 full time equivalent undergraduate and postgraduate students. The School has 75 full-time experienced and highly qualified academic staff; they are complemented by a cohort of offshore staff and part-time specialised staff ensuring relevance of its academic programs.

The Role and Your Responsibilities

The Associate Professor in Finance will provide leadership within the School and is responsible for providing original, innovative and distinguished contributions to the School’s programs and for maintaining and advancing their scholarly, research and/or professional capabilities relevant to this discipline at a national and international level. The Associate Professor will also teach and make a significant contribution to teaching and learning in the discipline with the aim of improving learning outcomes for students.

The Professor in Finance will be a senior academic and researcher and will be expected to contribute to the future direction of the School in research and teaching. The role will provide high level academic and research leadership and foster an exciting research culture and building research performance. The incumbent will undertake academic leadership roles within the School, College, and University and externally with industry.

Skills & Experience Required

To be considered for these opportunities, you will have PhD in a relevant field and demonstrated ability to direct an award program/s and implement program improvements and innovative approaches to student-centred learning and quality improvement programs. You will have extensive experience in research leadership with the ability to build and develop collaborative research teams, mentor academic staff to deliver high quality outcomes, attract and secure external research funding to sustain research effort, manage funded research projects including complex budgets and reporting requirements.
