Job Description
We are looking for a detail-focused university student or early-career candidate to assist with residential site capture and measurement work across Canberra/ACT.
/n
This is a technical field role involving GNSS rover equipment, laser measurement, site photography, structured checklists and data capture for residential design and construction projects.
/n
The role would suit someone studying or interested in surveying, civil engineering, construction management, architecture, GIS, spatial science, building design or construction technology.
/n
The role starts at approximately 20 hours per week, with potential to grow into a full time position if successful. Over time, the role may expand into construction markout, setout support and site QA.
/n
This is not a design role. The core requirement is careful, accurate and disciplined site measurement.
/n
Key responsibilities
/n
/n
Attend residential sites and complete structured site capture checklists.
/n
Use GNSS rover and laser measurement equipment.
/n
Capture ground levels, existing structures, services, trees, driveways, retaining walls and other visible site features.
/n
Take explicit and organised site photos.
/n
Record notes, assumptions and areas of uncertainty.
/n
Upload and organise site data for the design and construction team.
/n
Follow QA processes and flag anything that may require further checking.
/n/n

Is comfortable learning and using technical equipment.

Can follow a process carefully and consistently.
/n
Is cautious, honest and willing to flag uncertainty.
/n
Is reliable, organised and punctual.
/n
Has an interest in surveying, construction, engineering, architecture, mapping, GIS or site technology.
/n
Does not guess when unsure.
/n
Training will be provided. Prior surveying experience is helpful but not required.
