Wallsend Manor Aged Care are currently seeking Cleaners tojoin our team on a casual basis.

We are located approximately 14 kilometres north west of the Port of Newcastle and offer a serene country like setting with views across the rolling hills. We provide residents a mix of low care, high care, dementia services with ageing in place while providing quality care, community and an engaging lifestyle for our residents to enjoy.

About the Role

/n

The Cleaner will provide high-quality professional cleaning services to help maintain the highest possible standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the residence with a focus on maximising safety and minimising health risks for residents, visitors and staff at all times.

/n

Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor, the Cleaner will also be responsible for, but not limited to:

/n

/n
Provide a timely and efficient cleaning service that is responsive to the needs of residents and facility operations.

/n
Ensuring all cleaning activities are carried out safely, protecting both staff and residents, and comply with Workplace Health & Safety regulations—including the proper and safe handling of chemicals.

Ensure a high standard of customer service when interacting with residents, resident representatives and staff.

About you

/n

The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:

/n

/n
Previous experience as a cleaner in an Aged Care Facility or similar (desirable).

/n
Ability to build and maintain robust working relationships, collaborate effectively within a team, and demonstrate a caring and compassionate approach when interacting with residents and their families.

/n
Demonstrated organisation and time management skills.

/n
Knowledge of cleaning products and safe chemical handling, storage, and disposal, along with a strong commitment to Workplace Health & Safety to ensure a safe setting for residents and staff.

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:

Willingness to obtain valid Police Check

/n
Australian/Current Zealand residency or a valid working visa

/n
A current COVID-19 vaccination
