Build, maintain and optimize energetic financial models for Australian utility-scale battery storage projects, covering cash flow, multi-stream revenue, network charges, capital and operational expenditure forecasting under AUS regulations.
Carry out techno-economic valuation for early-stage BESS sites, assess energy arbitrage, FCAS and other revenue streams in line with Australian power market rules.
Support project development teams by running sensitivity, scenario and risk analysis; quantify impacts of power price volatility, network costs and policy adjustments on project IRR and LCOE.
Prepare investor-ready financial reports, investment memorandums and funding decks; coordinate with lenders, tax advisors and auditors to align models with due diligence requirements.
Standardize financial calculation templates for Australia BESS portfolio, review third-party financial assumptions and provide data-driven recommendations to mitigate economic risks.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Energy Economics, Electrical Engineering or related fields; 5+ years financial modelling experience focused on Australian NEM utility-scale renewable or BESS assets.
Deep understanding of Australia market, FCAS, MLF, network rules and revenue mechanisms for large-scale battery storage.
Advanced Excel financial modelling skills (macros, XNPV/XIRR, dynamic dashboards); experienced with full project finance model build from scratch.
Strong analytical and logical thinking, capable of translating technical project parameters into financial metrics; clear written and verbal communication for cross-functional stakeholders.
Prior experience delivering bankable financial models for Australian ready-to-build or operational BESS projects is highly preferred.
