The Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Specialist to support a major government digital transformation initiative delivering critical technology, data and digital service capabilities.
Working within an integrated delivery environment, you'll collaborate with customer stakeholders, technical teams and program leaders to ensure governance, risk, assurance and compliance activities are embedded throughout the delivery lifecycle.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with diverse stakeholders to strengthen governance practices, manage risk and support secure, compliant delivery outcomes.
In This Role, You Will
Develop, maintain and enhance governance frameworks, policies, registers and reporting artefacts.
Conduct risk assessments and compliance reviews across technology, operational and delivery activities.
Support internal and external audit, assurance and accreditation activities.
Partner with project and delivery teams to ensure security, governance and compliance obligations are understood and achieved.
Provide governance reporting, risk insights and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership teams.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of risk, assurance and governance maturity across the broader program.
The technical environment includes large-scale ICT platforms, cloud-enabled services, automated delivery pipelines, secure government systems and modern digital service capabilities.
About You
We are looking for someone who brings judgement, curiosity and a collaborative approach to work that matters.
Essential For This Role
Demonstrated experience in governance,



risk and compliance within a complex ICT or digital delivery environment.
Solid understanding of risk management, assurance and governance principles.
Experience working with, or knowledge of, government security and compliance frameworks.
Experience supporting large-scale technology or digital transformation programs.
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and reporting skills.
Ability to analyse complex risks and provide pragmatic recommendations that support delivery outcomes.
Advantageous, But Not Essential
Experience working within Federal Government, Defence or other highly regulated environments.
Experience supporting nationally significant digital programs involving geospatial data, earth observation, environmental monitoring, national mapping, disaster resilience, scientific analysis or digital service delivery.
Knowledge of information security, cyber security governance or compliance activities.
Experience supporting audit, assurance, accreditation or certification activities.
Exposure to cloud platforms, enterprise technology environments or digital service delivery programs.
This role requires the successful applicant to be an Australian Citizen and hold, or be eligible to obtain, an NV1 Security Clearance.
