Broadmeadows Basketball Association is seeking an experienced, driven and people-focused Head Coach to lead our Big V Championship Women's program for the **** season.
Based in Melbourne's north-west, BBA is a proud, well-respected and growing community sporting organisation delivering basketball competitions and programs across multiple venues. this is a rare and exciting opportunity to lead the Championship Women's program and help drive its on-court success, culture and long-term player pathway.
The role
The Head Coach will lead all aspects of the Championship Women's program, including:
Developing and delivering a high-performance training and game program
Leading player recruitment, retention and development
Building a positive, accountable and team-first culture
Selecting, mentoring and managing assistant coaches and support staff
Strengthening BBA's women's player pathway by building productive relationships with junior representative coaches, domestic clubs and key basketball stakeholders
Working collaboratively with the General Manager, Director of Coaching,
Big V staff and broader Broncos community
Modelling BBA's values of integrity, inclusion and respect while creating a safe, accountable and high-performance environment
Representing Broadmeadows Basketball Association professionally at all times
About you
We are looking for a coach who brings solid leadership, communication and basketball knowledge, along with a genuine commitment to developing athletes and people.
Ideally, you will have:
Demonstrated coaching experience in senior representative basketball, preferably within Big V Championship, NBL1 or equivalent
A clear and modern coaching philosophy
Experience developing players, building relationships and managing a competitive team environment
Strong organisational, communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to remain composed, adaptable and decisive in a high-pressure environment
Availability to meet all preseason, training, game-day and program commitments
The ability to meet all required Basketball Victoria, child-safety and association requirements, including a valid Victorian Working with Children Check
Appointment details
This is a fixed-term contract appointment covering the **** preseason and Big V Championship Women's season. Remuneration and final terms will be negotiated with the successful applicant, based on experience and the agreed scope of the role.
