Your impact
As a Maintenance Technician (Mechanical Fitter), you will play a critical role in supporting safe and reliable crushing and conveying operations within one of Australia's largest gold processing facilities (~41MTPA).
Working within the Dry Plant maintenance team, you will maintain key crushing, screening and materials handling assets to ensure secure and consistent ore throughput.
You will contribute directly to plant availability and performance while upholding Newmont's strong safety and environmental standards.
As part of our team you will
Carry out maintenance activities across primary, secondary and tertiary crushing circuits
Maintain and repair conveyors, crushers, screens, feeders, transfer stations and High‐Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR)
Perform belt, pulley, idler, liner and chute change‐outs
Maintain structural components and wear systems within crushing circuits
Support planned shutdowns and breakdown response
Complete preventative maintenance inspections across crushing and conveying assets
Operate plant equipment including EWP, forklift, overhead crane,
dogging/basic rigging and Hiab (as licensed)
Use CMMS systems (SAP preferred) to record work orders and maintenance activities
Work collaboratively with operations and maintenance teams to troubleshoot issues and improve plant reliability
Maintain compliance with site safety systems, statutory regulations, permits and isolation procedures
Prerequisites for your success in the role
Australian recognised Mechanical Fitter Trade Certificate
Previous experience in a large fixed‐plant processing environment
Strong mechanical aptitude with sound fault‐finding capability
Exposure to CMMS systems (SAP highly regarded)
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Understanding of mining safety and environmental regulations
High Risk Licences (forklift, EWP, dogging/rigging) - preferred
Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights - preferred
Current C‐Class manual driver's licence
Basic PC skills

This role operates on an 8 days on / 6 days off, followed by 7 nights on / 7 days off rotating roster and is based at Boddington Gold Mine, one of Australia's largest open‐pit gold operations.
You'll work within a modern processing plant alongside a highly experienced maintenance and operations team, forming part of a safety‐driven, high‐performing site culture focused on teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Village accommodation is available for the successful candidate, with the option to live locally and commute daily under a Drive In / Drive Out (DIDO) arrangement.
