About the role
Western Geotechnical and Laboratory Services' is seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as Laboratory & Field Technicians.
Opportunities currently exist for experienced construction material technicians and full-time traineeships based at our new Vasse location in the south-west of WA.
With the South West experiencing strong growth through new developments and expanding infrastructure, there's never been a better time to join our team and gain experience across a diverse range of projects
As part of our small, close-knit team, Work alongside a small but experienced, supportive team where your contribution is valued and you'll gain hands-on experience across both laboratory and field activities
In addition to local laboratory and field work, this role also offers the opportunity to participate in FIFO relief assignments, providing cover for roster changes across our regional projects.
This is a great prospect to gain broader experience while enjoying the variety of working across different sites.
What you'll be doing
Perform a range of technical laboratory tests and analyses to support our geotechnical and construction material projects
Collect, prepare, and test soil, rock, and aggregate samples in accordance with relevant Australian Standards
Operate and maintain a variety of laboratory equipment and instrumentation
Record, analyse, and report on test data and results




Assist with field work, including site inspections and sample collection
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our laboratory operations
What we're looking for
A demonstrated experience or interest in civil construction, science or technology
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed procedures
Good written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Current driver's licence and ability to travel to field sites as required
Australian citizenship is required for these positions
