About the role
Bunge is seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Leading Hand to play a critical role in ensuring the integrity and quality of grain from receival through to storage and export.
This is a hands-on role combining laboratory-based grain sampling, testing and grading with leadership responsibilities across multiple up-country sites.
Acting as the key point of contact for grain quality matters, you will provide technical expertise, operational support and guidance to site teams while ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved.
You will be responsible for providing expert advice, training, coaching and mentoring to new and existing employees, supporting the development of capability across the quality function.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing hands-on technical work with leadership and stakeholder engagement.
Duties include but are not limited to
Lead and support grain quality activities across multiple up-country sites, ensuring testing, grading and operational requirements are achieved
Perform and oversee grain sampling, testing, analysis and grading in accordance with GIWA and Bunge standards
Act as a point of contact for grain quality matters, providing technical advice and support to employees, growers, drivers and other stakeholders
Train, mentor, coach and develop new and existing employees in sampling techniques, testing procedures, equipment operation and quality standards
Maintain accurate laboratory records, data entry and reporting,
ensuring integrity and traceability of quality data
Monitor, maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment to ensure reliable and accurate testing outcomes
Assist with grain receival, storage and other operational activities as required to support site operations
Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with safety procedures, identifying hazards and maintaining regulatory requirements throughout the workplace
About you
Minimum 3 years' leadership or supervisory experience
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Demonstrated computer literacy, including experience with Microsoft Office and data management systems
Knowledge of grain quality standards, testing methodologies and grading processes
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships
Ability to problem-solve, provide technical guidance and support team development
Sampling, grain handling, agricultural, or bulk commodities experience highly desirable
Current Western Australian C-Class Driver's Licence
