Job description
This is an exciting, part-time (0.4 FTE) prospect for an experienced quality, risk and compliance professional to make a meaningful impact by strengthening quality and compliance across our organisation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality essential services to some of Australia's most geographically remote and culturally diverse communities.
At MJDF, quality, risk and compliance are more than just systems and processes - they are how we protect people, strengthen services, honour commitments, and build trust with communities, participants, staff, funders and regulators.
As our Quality, Risk and Compliance Coordinator, you will play a key role in ensuring our governance and operational systems support safe, effective and person-centred services.
You will help drive continuous improvement across the organisation, ensuring we meet our obligations while maintaining a practical, values-driven approach that supports the work of frontline teams.
What you'll do
Reporting to the CEO, you will work collaboratively across the organisation to coordinate quality, compliance and risk management activities.
Key responsibilities include:
Coordinating MJDF's quality management and continuous improvement systems
Maintaining compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and other regulatory requirements
Supporting internal audits, external audits and quality reviews
Monitoring incidents, feedback, complaints and corrective actions to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Maintaining organisational risk registers and supporting risk assessment processes
Coordinating policy reviews and document control systems
Supporting governance reporting for Executive Management, Board and Board Committees
Monitoring compliance calendars, reporting obligations and accreditation requirements
Working with managers to implement improvement initiatives and strengthen quality practices
Supporting the development of a culture of accountability, learning and continuous improvement
Providing advice and practical support to staff on quality, risk and compliance matters
What we're looking for
We are looking for someone who is organised, detail-oriented and committed to continuous improvement, while also being able to see the bigger picture.
You will bring:
Experience in quality, risk, compliance, governance or a related field
Knowledge of quality frameworks, audit processes and continuous improvement methodologies
Experience working within regulated environments, ideally disability, community services, health or human services
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written communication and report-writing abilities
The ability to build positive working relationships across diverse teams
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Confidence working with data, systems and reporting tools
A commitment to culturally safe, person-centred practice
Experience with NDIS compliance, accreditation processes, incident management systems or risk management frameworks will be highly regarded.
Most importantly, you will be someone who shares our commitment to integrity, accountability, learning and continuous improvement.
Why join MJDF
At MJDF, you will be part of an organisation that values both purpose and people.
We offer:
The opportunity to make a meaningful difference for people living with MJD and SCA7 and their families
A supportive and team-oriented workplace culture
Flexible work arrangements where operationally appropriate
Salary packaging benefits
Opportunities for professional development and career growth
The chance to work alongside passionate colleagues committed to community-led outcomes
A values-driven organisation that prioritises trust, teamwork, respect and family in every aspect of its work
