Senior Procurement Advisors & Specialist Procurement Key Details
Duration: 12 months with opportunities for up to 24 months extension
Location: ACT, NSW, VIC
Rate: $76–$93 per hour
Clearance: Negative Vetting 1
Focus: End-to-end procurement lifecycle, strategic sourcing, contract establishment, and procurement governance Our federal government client is seeking experienced procurement professionals to support complex procurement activities across the full procurement lifecycle.
These roles will suit candidates with robust public sector procurement experience who can provide strategic advice, manage complex sourcing activities, and ensure robust governance and compliance outcomes.
Successful candidates will work with stakeholders to deliver procurement solutions that achieve value for money, manage risk, and support organisational objectives.Key Responsibilities Procurement Planning & Strategy
Partner with stakeholders to understand business requirements, risks, and delivery timeframes.
Develop procurement plans, spending proposals, and sourcing strategies.
Conduct spend analysis, market assessments, and procurement risk evaluations.
Prepare procurement approvals, briefings, and governance documentation.
Market Analysis & Engagement Undertake market research and supplier analysis.
Assess supplier capability, capacity, and industry trends.
Identify opportunities through panel arrangements and existing contracts.
Engage suppliers while maintaining probity and compliance requirements.
Approach to Market (ATM)
Develop and manage procurement approaches aligned to risk and complexity.
Prepare RFQs, RFTs, RFIs and related procurement documentation.
Draft evaluation criteria and commercial documentation.
Manage supplier communications and responses during market approaches.
Evaluation & Selection Develop evaluation plans and methodologies.
Coordinate and facilitate evaluation activities.
Assess submissions against established criteria.
Prepare recommendations and value-for-money assessments.
Negotiation & Contract Establishment Lead or support supplier negotiations.
Finalise commercial terms and pricing arrangements.
Prepare contracts, deeds, and supporting documentation.
Manage approval and execution processes.
Contract Management Support Assist with transition to contract management.
Support supplier performance monitoring and reporting.
Manage contract variations, extensions, and amendments.
Provide advice on contract risks, disputes, and issues.
Ideal Candidate You will bring strong government procurement experience, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to navigate complex procurement environments while maintaining high standards of governance, compliance, and value for money outcomes.
