About the role
Greenstaff Medical is seeking an experienced Critical Care & ICU Nurse to join our healthcare team on a casual basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced critical care environment based in Perth, WA.
As a Critical Care & ICU Nurse, you will provide essential nursing care to critically ill patients, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality patient outcomes.
Your clinical expertise and compassionate approach will be vital in supporting vulnerable patients during their most critical moments.
This role offers flexibility and autonomy, allowing you to manage your schedule whilst making a meaningful difference in patient care.
Key responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU or Critical Care setting
Monitor and assess patient vital signs, haemodynamic parameters and clinical condition on a continuous basis
Administer medications and intravenous therapies in accordance with medical orders and clinical protocols
Manage complex medical equipment including ventilators, infusion pumps, cardiac monitors and other life-support systems
Perform wound care, catheter management and other clinical procedures as required
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing emotional support and clear explanations of care
Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals and nursing colleagues to develop and implement comprehensive care plans
Document patient care accurately and maintain confidentiality in accordance with healthcare standards and legislation
Respond promptly to patient deterioration and escalate concerns to senior staff appropriately
Support other team members and contribute to a positive, professional working environment
What we're looking for
Valid nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
Demonstrated experience working in critical care, intensive care or acute care nursing settings
Advanced knowledge of critical care nursing principles, emergency management and patient monitoring
Proficiency in managing complex medical equipment and interpreting clinical data
Solid clinical assessment skills and the ability to identify patient deterioration quickly
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
Ability to remain calm, organised and focused in high-pressure environments
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) certifications
Flexibility and reliability, with the ability to adapt to shift work and casual scheduling requirements
Commitment to maintaining qualified standards and continuing professional development
Preferred experience with mechanical ventilation, haemodynamic monitoring or critical care protocols
