Support children and families across remote communities through nutrition, health promotion and early intervention.
NPY Women's Council (NPYWC) is an Anangu-led organisation governed by women's law, authority and culture.
We deliver health, social and cultural services across the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara (NPY) region and are committed to strengthening communities through culturally responsive, trauma-informed practice.
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Child Nutrition Development Officer (Remote) to join our Child and Family Wellbeing Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside Anangu communities, supporting children aged 0–5 years and their families through nutrition education, case management and community development initiatives that improve child health and wellbeing.
About the Role
Reporting to the Nutrition Team Leader, you will work collaboratively with the Child Nutrition Program team to provide nutrition and family support across remote NPY communities.
You'll build strong relationships with families, community members and local services while delivering practical nutrition education, health promotion activities and case management to improve outcomes for children and families.
This role involves extensive travel to remote communities, overnight stays and shared accommodation while on community visits.
Key Responsibilities




Provide case management and ongoing support to families with children aged 0–5 years.
Deliver nutrition education, cooking workshops and community health promotion activities.
Build strong partnerships with families, health services, schools and community organisations.
Support community-led nutrition initiatives and healthy food programs.
Develop culturally appropriate nutrition resources and education materials.
Maintain accurate client records, program data and reporting.
Contribute to program planning, evaluation and continuous improvement.
Travel regularly to remote communities to deliver services and support local families.
About You
You are passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of children and families and enjoy working in remote communities where you can make a genuine difference.
You will bring:
Experience in health, nutrition, community services, early childhood, education or a related field.
Experience working with children, families or Aboriginal communities.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
The ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive team workplace.
A willingness to travel extensively and work in remote communities.
A relevant qualification in nutrition, health sciences, community services,



education or a related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
