Are you an experienced Emergency Nurse or Remote Area Nurse looking for your next challenge?
We are seeking skilled Senior ED Nurses, Rural & Remote Nurses and Remote Area Nurses (RANs) to join Primary Health Care teams delivering after-hours healthcare across some of Australia's most unique and remote communities.
These roles are ideal for clinicians who enjoy autonomy, complex clinical presentations and the opportunity to make a genuine difference.
Working on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rotational roster, you will provide after-hours clinical support, telephone triage, emergency response and patient-centred care within remote Aboriginal communities.
You will be supported by experienced healthcare teams while having the independence and responsibility that comes with remote practice.
About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing advanced clinical assessment and management of acute and chronic presentations
Delivering telephone triage, clinical advice and follow-up support
Responding to emergency callouts in line with established clinical protocols
Providing culturally secure, patient-centred care
Maintaining emergency readiness, equipment and clinical resources
Completing clinical documentation, reporting and quality improvement activities
About You
We are looking for experienced clinicians who are adaptable, confident working autonomously and passionate about improving healthcare access in remote communities.
You will ideally have:
Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration
Minimum 5 years post-registration nursing experience
Emergency Department, Critical Care, Rural or Remote Nursing experience
Strong emergency assessment, triage and clinical decision-making skills
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Strong communication skills and cultural awareness
Highly regarded qualifications and experience include:
Remote Area Nursing or Primary Health Care experience
Remote Emergency Care (REC) / Remote Emergency Nursing experience
Triage certification
ALS/BLS certification
Immunisation accreditation
Pharmacotherapeutics endorsement
Current driver licence
