Job DescriptionToro Australia Toro Australia is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to join our service team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, testing, diagnosing and repairing a range of turf maintenance and small-engine equipment at Toro's facility and designated customer locations.
This includes lawn mowers, garden tractors, line trimmers, golf course equipment and other petrol- and diesel-powered small-engine and turf-maintenance equipment.
The position will ensure that equipment is maintained and repaired in accordance with Toro's policies, procedures, product standards and customer requirements.
Benefits Task & responsibilities Inspecting, testing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining and servicing lawn mowers, garden tractors, turf-maintenance equipment and other petrol- and diesel-powered small-engine equipment.
Testing, diagnosing and repairing small petrol and diesel engines and associated hydrostatic transmissions, hydraulic systems, electrical systems and battery-powered systems fitted to small-engine and turf-maintenance equipment.
Locating worn, damaged or improperly adjusted engine parts and mechanical components through visual inspection and the use of appropriate test and diagnostic equipment.
Removing, dismantling, repairing and replacing small engines, associated transmissions, electrical components and other mechanical components using appropriate tools and secure work procedures.




Disassembling engines and associated components and inspecting parts for wear or damage using micrometers, calipers, thickness gauges and other measuring devices.
Adjusting engine valves, checking engine compression and diagnosing engine-related faults and failures.
Locating electrical faults and short circuits and completing necessary repairs in accordance with product service manuals and electrical wiring procedures.
Repairing or replacing worn and defective parts and reassembling engines and mechanical components in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
Testing and adjusting engines and repaired mechanical or electrical components to ensure proper performance.
Performing scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, engine tune-ups and other servicing requirements.
Discussing equipment malfunctions with customers and equipment operators to assist with fault diagnosis and determine the repairs required.
Responding to equipment breakdowns and undertaking emergency repairs on malfunctioning turf-maintenance and small-engine equipment.
Qualification & experience You are a skilled and safety-focused mechanic with practical experience servicing and repairing small-engine and turf maintenance equipment.




You are comfortable working independently at customer locations, diagnosing complex faults and completing repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
You will also have a professional approach to customer service and be able to clearly communicate the nature, progress and outcome of repair work, as well as: A relevant trade qualification, or at least three years of relevant experience in small-engine maintenance and repair, which may substitute for the formal qualification.
Relevant experience maintaining, diagnosing and repairing lawn mowers, garden tractors, turf-maintenance equipment and other small-engine equipment.
Experience using mechanical and electronic test and diagnostic equipment.
A valid Australian driver licence.
Ability to travel as required, including interstate or overseas travel where necessary.
