Learning Tree Education & Coaching | Woree & Smithfield, Cairns QLDLearning Tree Education & Coaching is seeking high-quality Tutors to join our team on a casual basis at our Cairns tutoring centres.We are looking for applicants who are confident supporting students in one or more of the following areas:High School Mathematics (Essential, General & Methods)PhysicsA combination of these subject areasFor high school tutoring roles, applicants should have solid subject knowledge and confidence supporting students across relevant senior subject pathways.
This role is best suited to someone who is academically capable, reliable, professional, and genuinely committed to helping students grow in confidence, understanding, and independence.About the RoleYou will deliver tutoring sessions in a supportive and professional learning environment, helping students strengthen their literacy and/or numeracy skills, build confidence, and improve their academic performance.The successful applicant will be able to explain concepts clearly, adapt their approach to suit different students, and maintain high expectations while building positive rapport.Tutors may work with students across primary and/or high school levels depending on their experience, subject strengths, and suitability.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver tutoring sessions in Mathematics and/or EnglishSupport students to build understanding, confidence, independence, and problem-solving skillsWork with students from primary and/or high school levelsTailor support to each student's learning needs, academic goals, and current school requirementsExplain concepts clearly and in a way students can understandProvide clear, constructive feedback to studentsMaintain accurate student progress notesCommunicate professionally with staff and families where requiredUphold strong academic and behavioural expectations during tutoring sessionsContribute to a positive, calm,
and encouraging learning environmentSubject AreasApplicants may be suited to one or more of the following areas:High School MathematicsApplicants interested in high school Mathematics tutoring should be confident supporting students in a combination of:General MathematicsMathematical MethodsSpecialist MathematicsThey should be able to explain mathematical concepts clearly, support problem-solving development, assist with school content and assessments, and help students build confidence and independence.Additional Subject AreasIt is highly desirable for applicants to be able to support at least one additional subject area, ideally to a Year 10 level and beyond.This may include, but is not limited to:ScienceBiologyChemistryPhysicsHumanitiesBusinessEconomicsStudy skills and assessment supportApplicants who are confident across both Maths and English, across both primary and high school levels, or across multiple subject areas will be viewed favourably.About YouWe are looking for someone who is professional, reliable, and able to connect well with students.The ideal applicant will have:Strong knowledge in MathematicsFor high school Mathematics: confidence in General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, and/or Specialist MathematicsThe ability to support an additional subject area to Year 10 level or beyond,
