We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and reliable female support worker to provide high-quality psychosocial disability support to a female participant living with complex mental health needs.The participant lives with Schizophrenia (Paranoid Type) and experiences additional diagnosed mental health conditions including Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (Borderline Personality Disorder), Depression and Asthma, with self-reported diagnoses of PTSD, OCD, Major Depressive Disorder and Insomnia.Due to the complexity of her presentation, the successful applicant must be confident supporting individuals experiencing:Complex psychosocial disabilityParanoia and psychotic symptomsEmotional dysregulationTrauma-related presentationsAnxiety and depressionSocial isolationFluctuating mental health and capacityCrisis prevention and de-escalationThe participant has specifically requested a female support worker to ensure she feels safe and comfortable while receiving personal supports.About the RoleThe successful support worker will assist the participant to maintain independence, build capacity and safely engage in everyday life.Duties include:Providing psychosocial recovery-oriented supportAssisting with daily living and personal routinesMeal planning and meal preparationHousehold cleaning and laundryMedication prompting and collection (where appropriate)Community access and transportGrocery shopping and essential errandsSupporting attendance at medical, allied health and community appointmentsAssisting with budgeting,



bills and daily organisationSupporting applications for housing and accommodationEncouraging participation in social and recreational activitiesAssisting with routine planning and maintaining structureMaintaining accurate progress notes and incident reportingWorking collaboratively with Support Coordinators and allied health professionalsEssential RequirementsApplicants must have:✔ Demonstrated experience supporting people with complex mental health conditions✔ Previous experience working in Supported Independent Living (SIL) or high-intensity psychosocial disability supports✔ Strong understanding of trauma-informed and recovery-oriented practice✔ Current ABN✔ Current NDIS Worker Screening Check✔ Current National Police Check✔ Current First Aid & CPR Certificate✔ Current Driver's Licence and reliable insured vehicle✔ Current Comprehensive Car Insurance✔ Current NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate✔ Completion of all relevant NDIS Worker Training Modules✔ Excellent written communication and documentation skills✔ Ability to work independently while maintaining qualified boundariesHighly DesirableMental Health First AidCertificate IV in Mental HealthCertificate IV in Mental Health Peer WorkCertificate III or IV in Individual SupportDiploma of Mental HealthExperience supporting participants with schizophrenia and personality disordersExperience with Positive Behaviour Support strategiesKnowledge of trauma-informed practice and crisis interventionMedication competency (where applicable)The Ideal CandidateWe are looking for someone who is:Calm, patient and emotionally resilientNon-judgemental and compassionateReliable and punctualAble to remain calm during periods of emotional distressConfident setting professional boundariesFlexible and adaptable to fluctuating support needsAn excellent communicatorCommitted to promoting dignity, choice and independenceImportant InformationThis role requires supporting a participant whose presentation can fluctuate due to the nature of her psychosocial disability.
