Principal Risk Adviser6-Month Casual Contract (Parental Leave Cover) Perth CBD | Hybrid Working Arrangement Client: Woodside EnergyAbout the RoleReporting to the Corporate Risk Team Lead, this senior-level opportunity is ideal for an experienced risk professional who can work autonomously while partnering closely with leaders across the business.
The role is focused on leading enterprise risk management activities across Woodside's corporate pillars, with a strong emphasis on emerging risk management, senior executive stakeholder engagement, and the application of risk management frameworks.
You will provide strategic advice and challenge to senior leaders, helping them understand risk exposures, manage evolving threats, and support informed decision-making.Key Responsibilities
Lead enterprise risk management activities across Woodside's corporate pillars.
Drive the consistent application and ongoing enhancement of risk management frameworks and practices.
Manage and maintain the organisation's emerging risk profile, identifying key themes, trends, and potential exposures.
Provide trusted advice, guidance, and constructive challenge to senior leaders and executives on current and emerging risks.
Build strong relationships with stakeholders across corporate functions to support risk identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting.
Facilitate risk workshops, reviews, and discussions to strengthen risk ownership and accountability.
Prepare and present risk insights, reports, and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
Operate independently while delivering key risk management outcomes within a rapid-paced corporate environment.
Key Deliverables
Managing and maintaining the emerging risk profile across the organisation.
Driving effective stakeholder engagement with senior executives and corporate functions.
Supporting the practical application of enterprise risk management frameworks across business pillars.
Providing strategic risk insights that enhance organisational decision-making and governance.
Skills & Experience
Approximately 10 years' experience in corporate risk, compliance, legal, governance, or a related discipline.
Strong experience applying and embedding risk management frameworks within complex organisations.
Proven capability to engage, influence, and present to senior executives and leadership teams.
Demonstrated experience working closely with corporate functions and managing diverse stakeholder groups.
Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver outcomes within a short-term assignment.
Oil and gas industry experience preferred but not essential.
Relevant qualifications in Risk, Compliance, Legal, Governance, or a related field are highly regarded.
