This isn't a traditional security role - you'll be directly involved in designing, testing and implementing security controls for AI systems being deployed across a regulated financial services environment.
The AI Security Engineer is a recent role within our AI team, which designs and delivers the AI and automation capability used across Pioneer Credit.
The team is engineering-led, working closely with technology, data and risk colleagues to ensure every solution is secure, compliant and useful.
This is a hands-on role focused on securing real AI systems as they are designed, built and rolled out.
You will work directly with engineering and data team members to embed security into how things are developed and deployed.
You will help us continue to adopt AI safely and at scale within a regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities
Design and implement AI security controls that address risks such as prompt injection, data poisoning and model misuse.
Build practical security guardrails for LLMs, AI agents and internal AI platforms.
Conduct threat modelling for new AI features, tools and capabilities,



identifying real-world risks early.
Define safe adoption patterns and reusable standards for emerging AI technologies.
Evaluate emerging AI threats and security tooling, guiding the business on pragmatic responses.
Support incident response and lead AI-related security reviews.
Skills and ExperienceEssential
Relentless approach to continuous learning
A strong security engineering foundation — application security, cloud security or similar.
Demonstrated experience conducting threat modelling and security risk assessments.
A hands-on, builder mindset — comfortable implementing, not purely advising.
Strong stakeholder skills, able to collaborate across engineering, data and risk team members.
Desirable
Exposure to AI or large language model systems — a genuine interest in the space matters more than deep experience.
Experience in regulated industries such as financial services.
Relevant security certifications.
